Pamukkale salt flats

🤓. In South west Turkey, Denizli province, volcanic lava heats water beneath and gives rise to calcium rich hot springs which pours out the steep side to form warm baths surrounded by natural stalactite. This is how nature forms Parmukkale salt flats.

The Pamukkale salt flats is also called “cotton castle” because from legend, giants left out cotton to dry which then formed the cusps of baths.

Pamukkale is synonymous with the historic city of Hierapolis - a popular Greek city in Roman era known for its spa in early centuries.

As another old story goes, a lady - ostracized by society - became beautiful after trying to commit suicide in Pamukkale. She was married afterwards by a Turkish lord.

The list of interesting medical therapies Pamukkale bestows goes long; from hypertension to stroke, natural health spa…💃🏽
