Stonehenge


With a lot of myths unresolved about the Stonehenge, the famous collection of large stones remain seated in its circular format in Wiltshire, England.

Mostly, archeologists evidence suggests the construction of Stonehenge to be around 3 millenia BC. It was also documented that the stones were moved in stages. The construction took about 1500 years.

But, 4 metres high 25 tons of stones constructed in antiquity is a big deal. More so, they’re aligned to the sunset in solstice.

Around this same time in prehistoric Britain, there was influx of new humans from the Mediterranean and Central Europe and from DNA evidence, these sets were ancestors to the builders of Stonehenge.


Although the particular culture that left Stonehenge hasn’t been discovered because there was no written records, it has been discovered that the location served as burial site.

Now, with its mystery of construction yet unraveled, Stonehenge still remains a famous landmark in England.
