Statue of unity in Gujarat India, depicts Vallabhbhai Patel. He was a national who fought for India’s independence. He died in 1950.

Patel himself

Patel served as the first home minister of the nation and vouched for Mahatma Gandhi’s policy on non-violence in achieving the country’s democracy. He was instrumental in uniting the states of India.

The statue of unity is a bigger version of the statue in one of the country’s international airport.

At the airport 

Standing as the tallest statue in the world, the statue of unity was completed 2018. It surpassed the Statue of Liberty in New York by the number of tourists.

While there is a lot of comments both good and bad alongside land permit issues, the statue still honors unity.
