Louvre is the largest and most visited museum in the world. 

Louvre is in the center of Paris, established more than two centuries ago. It holds more than half a million art works all grouped under 8 departments. 


Various classic artworks including Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, sculptures, busts from Greece and Roman empires, Middle East works from the Persian world....

Louvre started as a medieval military outpost in defense against foreign invaders. With the passage of time it was a palace for French kings - Louvre palace, later it became an academic institution and during the French Revolution it transitioned into a museum.


In 1981, the Grand Louvre was commenced to create more space and modern day facilities. It includes the the Louvre pyramid with underground buildings.
