Capybara ๐Ÿ’–

Capybara is the largest living rodent native to the Americas. They are semi aquatic, good swimmers inhabiting dense forests, land close to bodies of water, savanna.
A very social animal, they live together in groups of tens and a friend to most if not all animals, save it's predators. Its hide, meat, grease from it's fatty skin are products for which they are reared or hunted.
They have a good seat in zoos where they are a sight to visitors. Being a rodent, its name translates to "grass eater"
Despite its heavy body, it has a small head, brownish and yellowish fur. They eat their own faeces as a source of bacteria to aid cellulose digestion. capybaras select a single specie of tree to feed on, dismissing others.
They live for as long as 8-10years when domesticated and produce a litter of 4 young capybaras averagely.

They exhibit alloparenting - the young capybaras aren't raised by their biological parents but their relatives or other capybaras.

Friendly Capybara has different names in some countries. For example, Ronsoco in Peru and Capivara in Brazil.
They are not a specie close to extinction and can make protective sounds against other animals when especially their young are threatened.
