The French Revolution

A time for the masses have arrived.
Beginning in 1789, the uprising started with the storming of Bastille (a federal prison and fortress) and heated up into a revolution that changed the course of history, upturning monarchies and birthing liberalism, republics and democracy. It lasted for more than ten years.
The revolution ended in a dictatorship under Napoleon and through him the ideals from the revolution spread to the cities he overthrew in the continent. The revolution set the pace for upturn and defeat of monarchies (ancient system of inherited kingship) replacing them with democracy, this spread from Europe to the middle East.

The revolution seats on many causes, one is the American revolution which left the French government in debt aided by years of famine, increasing bread price. Another cause is the grievances held against first class citizens and elders of the church about their overblown privileges. This was also fueled by a period known as the Age of Enlightenment where education on human rights, scientific discoveries...was at it's height and circulated to the populace.
It was during the revolution that the cultural capital, Versailles was moved to Paris 😎.
According to Wikipedia, "The modern era has unfolded in the shadow of the French revolution. Almost all future revolutionary movements looked back to the revolution as their predecessor." The revolution brought about the knowledge on human rights, rise of republics and democracy.
We enjoy being human and breath freedom mainly because of the French Revolution .
Imagine living without human rights 🧐.
